Ask Quran

Ask a question. Read the ayat that answer it.

Type what's on your mind the way you'd ask a friend. Ask Quran finds the verses and tafsir that speak to it and shows you each one with its reference, so you're reading the Quran itself, not someone's summary of it.

Search by meaning

Find a verse even when you can't remember the words.

Most of us have had this happen: you remember an ayah about patience, or about how hardship is followed by ease, but not where it is or how it goes. Keyword search only helps if you already know the exact words.

Ask Quran searches by meaning. Ask about patience in hard times and it brings back verses on sabr even if they never use the word you typed. Tap any reference and it opens in the reader, at that ayah, with its translation and tafsir.

EXAMPLE QUESTION

What does the Quran say about patience in hard times?

Al-Baqarah 2:153

O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.

Ash-Sharh 94:5–6

For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.

Az-Zumar 39:10

… Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account.

Sources, not opinions

Why Ask Quran doesn't write its own answers.

AI chatbots are good at sounding confident. On religious questions that's a problem: they can blend verses together, quote ayat that don't exist, or state a ruling that no scholar would give, and it all reads just as smoothly as the truth.

So Ask Quran was built to do one job carefully. It finds the relevant passages and puts them in front of you, with the Arabic and translation taken from the canonical Quran text, and tafsir excerpts named by their author. It doesn't paraphrase, summarise or add commentary of its own. If there's nothing relevant, it says so rather than guessing.

Ask Quran is a way into the Quran, not a replacement for a scholar. For questions about your own circumstances, a qualified person who knows you and your situation is still the right place to go.

How people use it

Three ways to ask.

Ask a question

"What does the Quran say about treating parents?" You get the ayat on kindness to parents, with tafsir alongside.

Explore a topic

Tap a ready-made topic like Mercy, Forgiveness, Gratitude or Prayer to see what the Quran says about it.

Jump to a reference

Type 2:153 or 94:5 and go straight to that ayah, with its tafsir ready to read.

Privacy

What you ask stays with you.

The questions people bring to the Quran are often personal: grief, worry, family trouble, a decision they're struggling with. So Ask Quran keeps nothing by default. You can use it without an account, and even when you're signed in, history stays off until you turn it on yourself.

If you do switch history on, you can delete a single question or clear the whole list from Settings whenever you like.

FAQ

About Ask Quran

Is Ask Quran an AI chatbot?

No. It does not write answers of its own. It searches the Quran and classical tafsir for passages related to your question and shows you those passages, each with its surah and ayah number, so you are always reading the source itself.

Can Ask Quran give me a fatwa or tell me what to do?

No, and it is not meant to. It helps you find what the Quran says about a subject. For a ruling on your own situation, such as a question about marriage, money or worship, please ask a qualified scholar you trust.

What kind of questions can I ask?

Anything you would like to explore in the Quran: a topic like patience or parents, a question like what the Quran says about forgiveness, or a direct reference such as 2:153 to jump straight to that ayah and its tafsir.

Are my questions saved?

Not unless you choose. You can ask without an account and nothing is kept. If you sign in, history stays off until you switch it on in Settings, and you can delete single questions or clear all of them at any time.

Does Ask Quran work offline?

No. Searching by meaning and fetching tafsir need an internet connection. Reading the Quran, prayer times and the Qibla all work offline.
